Utilizing a fleet of autonomous ocean vehicles, Saildrone collects an unprecedented amount of data for agencies such as NOAA and NASA. I joined to make the same data available to consumers.
I worked with meteorologists and data modelers to present precise weather data as detailed map visualizations. I combined that with easy-to-read forecasts, graphs, and a high level of customizability to create Saildrone Forecast.
The app rose to #3 in the United States within the App Store weather category and was featured in publications such as The New York Times, Outside, Popular Mechanics, Bloomberg, and Forbes.
