Samsung Gear S

As the Lead UI Designer at Samsung, I was tasked with creating the user experience for their flagship wearable device—the Gear S. As one of the first mainstream wearable devices on the market, the biggest challenge was creating an interface that was not only user-friendly but also showed the potential of wearable technology to the world.

Leading a sizable team of designers, UX architects, and engineers, we designed a simple interface where users can access apps by swiping left or right. I also designed the primary watch face, which needed to be iconic and immediately recognizable in Samsung marketing and advertising.

The result is a clock that is modern, minimalist, and showcases the device's screen. Our interface shipped on the final product, which sold over 800K+ units in the first two months of sales.
